Full Fight: Lucero Acosta vs Valerie Quintero
October 14, 2019
Jose took the nickname “El Pistolero” (the gunman) because he really loves corridos (Mexican style music). Many years ago, he snuck into the United States illegally and was able to secure his license to fight. At the time, Team Guerra’s House of Warriors in Alvin, Texas, became his family. His dream was to become a famous fighter and because he was so young, he did the impossible without considering the consequences. One of the fighters he looked up to at that time was former UFC and PRIDE slugger Dan Henderson.
Jose does not have a job outside of MMA because he is too busy with his students and his own career. During his downtime, what little there is of it, Jose spends time on his ranch with his wife and daughter. His wife manages their MMA gym and his daughter trains with him in the afternoon, so not surprisingly, they are his biggest fans. He wants to use Estrellas II to show the world what Mexican fighters are capable of inside “La Jaula” and to also represent his country with honor. His eventual goal is to score a championship title with Combate Americas.
