Copa Combate 2018 – Alejandro El Gallito Flores
noviembre, 26 2018
Alejandro (or “Alex”) was nicknamed “El Gallito” by his coach in Mexico when he was younger and first starting out in MMA, probably because Alex was cocky and confident. After a while, the name stuck. He actually started in Muay Thai, but had to train at a friend’s house in secret because his parents didn’t want him doing it. After finding success in Muay Thai and boxing, Alex made the transition to MMA and was able to get his family’s support. Some of his favorite fighters include UFC lightweight Diego Sanchez because his fighting style is so motivating.
Outside of cage fighting, Alex likes to ride motorcycles and hang out with his friends. He loves the fact that Combate Americas focuses on Latin MMA and how it is helping the sport grow in Mexico. Alex made his “La Jaula” debut at Combate 12 in Tijuana with a split-decision win over Walter Zamora and looks to make a statement at Estrellas II. He expects his opponent will have the same motivation and hopes that will translate to an exciting war inside the cage.
