After almost six months of inactivity, Combate America's superstar John "Sexy Mexi" Castaneda (12-2) will come back to "La Jaula", when he faces UFC veteran Chris Beal (10-4) in a bantamweight bout.

Castaneda was scheduled to face Gustavo Lopez in "Combate Americas - Empire Rising" for the bantamweight title, celebrated in last October. However, the Mankato native couldn't make weight, so the winner of the fight wouldn't earn the champion's belt.

Despite of not being a title fight after all, Castaneda managed to score an impressive TKO over Lopez and became the fighter with most wins (5) in Combate America's history.

"Sexy Mexi" has become one of the most talented fighters in the promotion, by achieving five wins in a row against Gustavo Lopez, Angel Cruz, Gabriel Solorio, Federico Lopez and Justin Governale under the Hispanic banner.

On the other hand, Chris "The Real Deal" Beal comes from a four-fight losing streak, including a submission lost against former UFC bantamweight title contender Joe Soto in June. Before those four defeats, Beal managed to score 10 victories in a row.

Beal's striking ability will be his most important argument in order to defeat Castaneda. The Ventura native has shown that he's a knockout artist and that it only takes one second to end a fight with a powerful blow.

There's a lot to win in this bout: Castaneda wants to keep breaking records under the Combate Americas banner, and prove that he's the best bantamweight in the promotion. But Beal will fight in his hometown, in front of his crowd, looking to end the negative streak of four losses.

Combate 14 will be celebrated next May 5th in Ventura, California. And will be broadcasted by Azteca America in the United States and ESPN Latinamerica.
